Purpose of the website
The website provides general information about eqipe, as well as its products, services and career opportunities.
General information on the collection, processing and use of personal data
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses that reveal a person’s identity.
We collect, process and use personal data (including IP addresses) only when this is necessary to fulfil a contract or take pre-contractual steps, or when processing is necessary to protect our legitimate interests.
- Contact details, such as name, telephone number, email address, postal address and date of birth
- Communication data, such as your IP address, the MAC addresses of devices used, such as smartphones or computers, and device and settings information
- Purchase history data, such as purchase details, including information about products or services purchased
- Other personal data, such as credit card details, bank details and career history
Log files
Whenever you use the internet, your web browser automatically transmits certain information, which we store in so-called log files.
We store log files to identify faults and for security purposes (e.g. to investigate attempted attacks) for as long as necessary for their stated purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Log files that need to be retained for evidentiary purposes are exempt from deletion until the relevant incident has been finally resolved, and may in individual cases be passed on to law enforcement authorities. Storing log files serves our legitimate interests in ensuring that our website operates correctly and without disruption.
In particular, the following information is stored in log files:
- IP address (Internet Protocol address) of the device used to access the online service;
- Internet address of the website from which the online service was accessed (the so-called origin or referrer URL);
- Name of the service provider used to access the online service;
- Name of the files or information accessed;
- Date, time and duration of access;
- Amount of data transferred;
- Operating system and information about the internet browser used, including installed add-ons (e.g. for a password manager);
- HTTP status code (e.g. “request successful” or “requested file not found”).
User analytics
Analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) are used on the eqipe.ch website. The information collected about how the websites are used is stored on the tool providers’ servers.
With the help of analytics tools, we can collect and analyse data on how website visitors use our website. This allows us to find out when and from which region particular pages were viewed.
Other data collected may include, for example, the names of files accessed, the browsers used, the features used or the time spent on the website.
eqipe has a legitimate interest in the anonymised analysis of user behaviour in order to optimise both its online offering and its advertising. If your prior consent was requested when you visited our website (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), processing is carried out on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
You can find detailed information about the analytics tools used in our Cookie Policy .
Disclosure of data
As a rule, we only transfer your personal data to other data controllers where this is necessary to fulfil a contract, where we or the third party have an overriding legitimate interest in the disclosure, or where you have given your consent.
In addition, data may be transferred to other data controllers where we are required to do so by statutory provisions or by an enforceable order from a public authority or court.
Service providers
We engage external service providers to carry out tasks such as marketing services, development operations, data hosting, dispatch and debugging. We have carefully selected these providers and monitor them regularly, particularly their careful handling of and security measures for the data stored with them. We require all service providers to maintain confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
Disclosure to recipients outside the EEA
We may also disclose personal data to recipients based in countries outside the EEA, known as third countries. In such cases, before disclosing the data, we ensure that the recipient provides an adequate level of data protection through appropriate contractual agreements or, where necessary, that you have consented to the disclosure.
Data storage details: storage locations & retention periods
Your data is stored mainly in Switzerland and Germany. As a result of using various service providers, data is also stored in other EU countries and in the USA.
As a rule, we store your data for as long as necessary to provide our services and the services associated with them, or for as long as we have a legitimate interest in continuing to store it (for example, we may have a legitimate interest in postal marketing even after a contract has been fulfilled). After that, we delete your personal data, except for data that we are required to retain in order to fulfil legal obligations (for example, under tax and commercial law retention periods, we are required to keep documents such as contracts and invoices for a certain period).
Marketing tools
We use various tools for marketing activities. When these tools are used, your browser sometimes connects directly to the servers of the respective tools. This informs the relevant provider that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our offering. Log files, similar to those described in section 5, are also sent to the servers of the respective providers and may be stored there. The provider or its server may be located outside Switzerland, the EU or the EEA (e.g. in the USA).
Data is exchanged via third-party cookies.
You can find further information about the purpose and scope of data collection, its further processing and use in our Cookie Policy and in the respective terms and conditions and privacy notices.
Newsletter
The email address you provide when signing up for the newsletter or registering a customer account is used to send you information about our services. You can object to this use at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email.
Security
Our employees and the service companies we engage are required to maintain confidentiality and comply with the provisions of applicable data protection laws.
We take all necessary technical and organisational measures to ensure an appropriate level of protection and to protect the data we manage, in particular against the risks of accidental or unlawful destruction, manipulation, loss, alteration or unauthorised disclosure or access.

To exercise your rights, please use the details in the “Contact details” section. Please ensure that we are able to identify you clearly.
Right to information and access
You have the right to receive information from us about how your data is processed. To do so, you may exercise your right of access to the personal data we process about you.
The data will be made available to you within 20 working days of receiving your request.
Right to rectification and erasure
You may ask us to correct inaccurate data. Where the legal requirements are met, you may ask us to complete or erase your data.
Please contact us in writing or by telephone to request the erasure of your data. You can find our contact details under Contact on this page.
This does not apply to data required for billing and accounting purposes or subject to statutory retention requirements.
Your data will be erased within 20 working days of receiving your request.
Data portability
Where the legal requirements are met, you may ask to receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or – where technically feasible – to have the data transferred to a third party.
Right to object
Objection to direct marketing
You may also object at any time to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes (“objection to advertising”). Please note that, for organisational reasons, there may be an overlap between your objection and the use of your data as part of a campaign that is already under way.
Objection to data processing on the legal basis of “legitimate interest”
You also have the right to object at any time to our processing of your data where it is based on the legal grounds of “legitimate interest”. We will then stop processing your data unless, in accordance with legal requirements, we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for continuing the processing that override your rights.
Withdrawal of consent
If you have given us consent to process your data, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data before withdrawal.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend our security and data protection measures. In such cases, we will also amend our Privacy Policy accordingly.
